This event is like no other justice conference. Woman Up and the UoC School of Justice have collaborated to bring you an event bursting with variety.
We kick-off with pre-bookable free self-defence class which combines physical protection with the law on self-defence.
You will hear from several wonderful speakers who are highly skilled working in the system alongside our wonder women breaking through into legal career. They will discuss their experience of being a women working in the justice system.
You will hear from women who have been offenders, victims, survivors and their experience of being at the mercy of the justice system.
We will consider the experiences of laws affecting women in Iran and then to top our day off we will hear from well-known women’s justice campaigner Vera Baird QC who will talk about how the system serves, or does not serve women today.
You do not have to say anything but anything you do say will be absolutely welcome during Q&A sessions. Our key question for the day is What does justice for women mean to you?
We offer a buffet at lunchtime and a chance to discuss issues and we would love you to join us at our afterparty at Timmy’s.
